Hello everyone,

Here are some of the mistakes made by many solo travellers and it’s very important to take care of them.

I’ve told you about the Solo Travel and Solo travel Guide in which you got to know about the things to keep in mind while travelling alone.

So, this post is all about the mistakes made by solo travellers, specially women.

Let’s start!

1. Ignoring your Instincts.

Yes, your instincts are special gift to you and it’s very important to utilize them specially while you travel or you are outside home.

Always trust your instincts and follow them, they might save you from circumstances and protect your life. Trust your instincts. That’s Rule no. #1

2. Trusting your new friends easily

No matter how good they are behaving still, stay aware. Trusting people too easily & fast is not right. Strangers are strangers. You are lucky if you got an amazing sweet friend, but you don’t have to blindly trust some of them.

3. Not being assertive with unwanted attention.

Don’t ignore this. If you are getting unwanted attention from any stranger, be assertive about it. Don’t ignore it. Be aware and responsible of your own safety.

4. Not researching local cultures

Cultures are important part of our lives, as you know, each country has it’s own cultures and heritage and if you are not researching and knowing about them, you are missing the most important part of that place. So, research about it, see new things related to that. You’ll love it.

5. Not sharing travel plans

In the previous travel post, I told you that it’s very important for someone to know where you are and it’s also important for them to know your travel plans. Share your travel plans with anyone close to you and give them your live location.

6. Not being prepared for an emergency.

Whoa, what do I do now? Help me!

So, do you want to be like this? Not being prepared for that situation? Is it right? No!!

Always be ready and prepared for emergencies, carry a first aid, Prepare yourself for all kinds of bad situations, you know what.

Because, this is important my friend!! Really important. So be prepared.

7. Wearing Expensive items.

I’ve told you this before, never wear your expensive jewellery and watches, any item while you travel. There are many thefts, many with the tourists. Never wear them. Leave them at home if you don’t wanna loose it.

8. Not trying local cuisine

The best food of that place is found in the places where locals eat. Local cuisine is the best. Try eating what locals eat, from local restaurants. You will get the best taste.

9. Not packing confidence

Confidence and self-esteem are the most importance things while you travel. Always, when you travel be confident. Without confidence, you’ll not enjoy your solo journey.

10. No travel Insurance.

Before travelling to any place, get a travel insurance. It’s very important. Not getting a travel insurance is a very common mistake many people make.

11. Not being active in social activities

Don’t forget the activities! It’s very interesting to participate in the activities. Be socially active. You’ll enjoy it! What are you waiting for? Go!!

12. Trying to look like a tourist

Don’t show others that you are a tourist, when you are travelling alone. Mix up with the locals. Dress like them. Avoid looking like tourist.

Here are some rules:-

  • No fancy clothes
  • No expensive watches
  • Keep DSLR, phone in backpack.
  • Keep expensive accessories at home.
  • Follow traditions and cultures
  • Try to blend with locals
  • Don’t look flashy and stand out from the crowd

So, here were some of the common mistakes which people make while travelling alone.

Make sure you don’t make their mistakes as your own.

Be safe.

Enjoy your trip as much as you can and eat a lollipop! Haha. Just Joking.

Have a great day!!
